What would it take for you to find your peace?
This is the question I was asking myself years ago when my daughter first developed schizophrenia and I was thrust headlong into being a caregiver for an illness I knew nothing about. This, on top of the burnout I was already experiencing from being a single parent to active hockey players while working 60 hours a week as a teacher.
To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement.
There was little to no help for my situation, so I was forced to figure things out for myself.
Even though I had already spent years on the spiritual path seeking self-awareness, I was not prepared for the chaos in which I found myself.
I needed some practical solutions so I started by creating simple systems for myself that helped me regain control of my life.
When I simplified my life, I created room for me and who I really was.
I found my peace amidst the chaos.
